The Wall Street Journal features a thought-provoking article on Finnish Metal! This is an interesting phenomenon. I've also met and interviewed quite a number of fans of various Finnish metal bands in different countries. And many of them are not only fans of certain bands, or Finnish metal in general, but also very interested in our country and its culture, heritage, history, language, products, and other aspects. Metal really seems to function as a means of cultural export in a wider sense.
